Frequency distributions of X-fold discrepancies between the gene expression values obtained by two repeated measurements. For each RNA sample and for each of the 35 genes analysed the Log2 of the ratio of the two independently measured expression values was calculated and the number of occurrences for each interval displayed in the histograms. The distributions were shifted on the abscissa so that the most abundant class was centered at a Log2 value of zero. Expression values that were below the detection limit were not considered. Panel (a) shows the distribution of 4447 values as displayed in Fig. 5 and panel (b) shows the result of the technical replicate of a set of time series (1643 values) measured from plasmodia that had not been exposed to any light stimulus (dark controls). The figure was prepared with Kaleidagraph Version 4.1.3 (Synergy Software)
